Mutton Dum Pukht Recipe

 Mutton Dum Pukht is a traditional slow-cooked mutton recipe that will surely take you to the tour of Heaven.

Ingredients-Mutton Dum Pukht

  1. Green Cardamoms – 2-3
  2. Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
  3. Garlic – 2 pods
  4. Black Cardamom – 1
  5. Coriander Leaves – 1/2 cup
  6. Green Chilies – 1-6
  7. Cloves – 4
  8. Ginger – 1″ piece
  9. Black Pepper Corns – 6
  10. Mint Leaves – 1/4 cup
  11. Onion -1/2
  12. Water- 3 cups
  13. Curd – 1 cup
  14. Wheat Flour – 1/2 cup
  15. Salt – to taste
  16. Oil – 2 tbsp
  17. Mutton – 1/2 kg

How To Prepare Mutton Dum Pukht

  1. Mix thoroughly mutton, curd and salt and keep aside.
  2. In a mixer grind the marinate till it forms a fine paste.
  3. Mix the paste with the marinated mutton.
  4. Put in freezer for 6-8 hours.
  5. Knead a soft dough with the flour and keep covered.
  6. Heat up oil in a thick-bottomed pan.
  7. Mix in marinated mutton and stir fry on a slow flame for 10 minutes or till the oil starts separating.
  8. Mix in the water.
  9. Cover the pot with a lid.
  10. Seal with kneaded flour and stir fry for 45 minutes on a slow flame or till steam comes out of cracks in the flour.
  11. Cut off the flour and serve with naan.
